Run run run as far as you can

I can't wait for December to come! I want to get out of the city for a while! Will be heading to Bangkok again and I'm just excited because I'm just in love with that city. The food! The shopping!

People have been asking me this one particular question and my answer to it has always been "I just don't like running but if you were to throw me in a place full of obstacles which needs strength and stamina challenging situations, I'll gladly go through it with all my might!". So the question is, "Why don't you join a marathon run?".

Frankly speaking, I don't fancy any marathon run. For some it's because of the thrill they get during and after the run but for me I don't see the fun in it at all. I mean running and in the end getting a medal is certainly nice and seems inspiring, but I just don't get it. Sorry I'm #justsaying this. Even in the gym I just hate running on treadmills. I would rather do jumping jacks for 20 minutes instead! (Of course I didn't do la..mad la). I do know there are those who run because it's their passion which I totally look up to and I'm all out for them. There are also those who run for the sake of being part of the society and in trend since marathons are a trend now among Malaysians and Instagram worthy.

I've tried running in a marathon before and honestly I just can't brain it like seriously. I guest I'm more of a person who likes challenges and not just running from point A to point B on a flat surface unless if there was obstacles involved than I'm all out for it like jumping across pools of mud, walking on planks and such. Easiest to say is, I like to get down and dirty (okay that sounds to sensual don't you think?). Back when I was a student, I used to join activities which involves body and mental challenge which is just fun! I remember I had to complete a 15 obstacle course as fast as I could which involves you sliding into a pond of grayish black mud, walking across 4 inch wide planks, climbing a wall made from bamboo sticks, crawling into a muddy ditch, making your way through a pool filled with slugs and leeches and so much more. After going through all that I was placed 4th among the many and it just satisfactory.

Why do I keep looking left?

Anyway, after graduating and started working, I've become like a slug and have not been involve with any of those kind of activity. Even the recent Viper challenge I wasn't in it. Laziness just hit me I think but I've registered for next year's challenge! Totally looking forward to it. Also looking into boot camps and more outdoor oriented activities.

To sum it up, running is not for me. But is it for you? Do you join those marathons or any sort of run?

  2. i love running but not competitive runs like marathon. i used to jog, i mean run (according to my peers) the whole shah alam lake in the weekends and i love the feeling of the wind blowing in my face and the adrenaline i get (in my mind i was running away from The Devil, my neighbor's dog). i love to cycle too but ever since i moved to KL, i don't feel it is safe to cycle. you should run! you'll get nicer legs (your legs are nice already btw).

    1. Hahah you're funny! I used to run on the threadmill only but now I've stopped and my legs look like some chicken legs. But still they look nice I think. Hahaha.

  3. There are so many not pure run event! Reebok One challenge, Viper Challenge, The Maze Challenge, to name a few.

Sometimes running give you time to be with yourself for an entire hour (or more depending what distance you are running). "Talk" to yourself during the run. Lol... #JustSaying
