MTV World Stage 2014 - Malaysia #WorldStageMY

Weekend ended too fast! Just so bloody fast! I can't accept how fast it just went by! Okay enough of being emotional.

Hey! Have you guys heard of Dayre? Any of you? I'm guessing either not or you have but you're not on it. Dayre is kinda cool actually. Here follow me here! : ADLEXUS psssstt even Calvin Junichiro is on it! The blogger with that yellow daisy as a profile picture?

Anyway I'm supposed to blog about my trip to Penang but maybe I'll put that on hold for awhile. Too lazy to blog about it.

So, I attended MTV World Stage 2014 here in KL! It's my first time actually. Honestly, it wasn't that bad and it was a great way to spend my Saturday evening/night. Attended with a few buddies they were just awesome as usual. The crowd was good as well lots of pretty girls and guys, but isn't as exciting as FMFA! FMFA was just like a beach in the city scene with some many, well you know interesting people around *wink wink*.

The line up for this year's World Stage I would say isn't as great compared to previous years. They had Thaitanium (which is a famous Thai band who had Snoop Dogg as a feat artist on their new record), Boys Republic (apart from the good looks, nothing else I would say), Yuna (her live performances was just awesome and I do like her music) and B.o.B (who just knew how to bring the crowd to their feets!). The highlight definitely for me was just Yuna and B.o.B while the rest were just not my cup of tea. So practically as usual they would save the best for last and that was what they did.

Here's the opening by Thaitanium.

Boys Republic. They're dancing is good!

Yuna was just awesome honestly.

B.o.B took so many selfies using some of his fans phones. Gosh!

Finally me with a superbly tired face! I slept like 4am on Saturday morning. Woke up at 7am and headed to the gym at Mid Valley. Drove to the tailor to do my fitting. Went home for lunch. Took a 30 minute nap. Showered and headed out to Sunway Piramid to meet up with the awesome folks.

I got that tank top from Philosophy Men. Apparently they are actually shutting down the brand and all its outlet. Currently if I'm not wrong, it's only Mid Valley and Pavilion. They are having great deals like 50% off everything. A good buy I would say but its good bye to the brand.

Carnarvon House #Penang

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri kepada semua! So fast it's Raya and it's going to be August as well. Gosh!

Anyway, over the weekend I was away from the hectic KL life for a road trip and guess where did I actually planned to visit? Well maybe you guessed it right. I went to Penang! The last time I was in Penang was last year, September. It was good to visit the place again. After so long!

So, I won't be writing about my trip there, but was thinking I should write about the place I stayed for 2 nights while I was in Penang. It's just worth writing. Like honestly it is.

So I stayed at some comfy and lovely place. The place is called Carnarvon House. Why the name Carnarvon? I believe it's because the place is situated along Carnarvon lane thus the name came along. I think. Uh duh.

It is owned by two great guys known as Terry and Jamie (I'm not sure if there's any other partners involved though) who were formerly working and based in Singapore but after sometime they decided to return back and start a guest house for the many tourist and visitors to Penang. Having opened for almost a month or so, I had the privilege to be the first guest to stay at the place and honestly, it was just cosy and warm throughout the two nights.

The whole concept and place of Carnarvon House is just very oriental-ish and lots of wood, like literally wood around from the the furniture to the flooring, it just brings back the golden days feel when you're around the place. The whole place is actually a refurbished pre-war shop lot cum house which may have been around for donkey years. The great part of the place is the way it was stored back to its highlight and the main feature of the place which you would not miss when you enter the place is the huge wood paneling carved by hand that connects the ceiling and floor with a small arch way that will bring you to the courtyard. It just brings the awwww in you. Plus I can't imagine the price of that whole piece and it is actually originally fitted that before the place was restored.

In total there are 7 rooms at Carnavon that may fulfilled all your needs, but of course, being a guest house, there aren't any attached bathrooms. Instead shared bathrooms are provided for your daily needs when nature calls. Before you go "ewwww shared bathrooms", hold your horses. They are superbly clean! It just feels comfortable using them plus they have warm showers too which is totally great after a long day of walking around Georgetown or during a cold day.

Every room is also air conditioned so no worries of mosquitoes or a hot day or maybe even sweaty moments *wink wink*. But just a word of advise, the walls are pretty thin since it's made from
wood so your neighbours may hear your day and night activities. Just be wary of what you say as the saying goes "walls have ears". Hahaha.

Anyway, the guest house is located at a superbly convenient location which is close to some of the great food places you may find in town. It's just opposite Kimberly Street too! So you won't actually go starving when you're in Penang. Besides, if you're just too lazy to head out for food,  you can always inform Terry or Jamie that you'll like to have a nice homemade meal and they can either prepare it for you (not they cook la, but other people) or they can actually take you around town to try out the yummy Penang food.

Apart from that, they do serve snacks during tea time so no worries. In terms of security, they do have security system to ensure all guest are well protected during their stay there especially at night.

Oh I've forgotten to mention one important stuff. They have free WiFi! I know you'll love it.

I've got so much to say but all I can say is the place is really lovely and a great place to stay at. Here are some pictures to share with you guys.

The entrance just calls for you.

So those are some of the pictures I took of the place. Not much but doesn't it look homey? If you would like to experience a night stay in a place other than a 3-5 star hotel, this could be one of your choices. Plus you can view more of the place on their Facebook as well. Here

One more thing to take note is the pricing. Well you can't expect it to be dead cheap but it is at an affordable range starting from around RM130 on-wards per night depending on the room. So it isn't that bad.
